In 2026, RUDN became a partner of Samia Scholarship Extended, a comprehensive scholarship program supporting talented young people in Tanzania. The initiative was developed following the visit of Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, to RUDN in June 2026, during which she was awarded the title of Honorary Doctor of the University.

Under the program, 10 Tanzanian school students, selected nationally on the basis of academic performance, have been given the opportunity to continue their education in Russia.

Stage one: RUDN Preparatory Faculty — Russian language plus core subjects.

Stage two: — admission to the university’s degree programs in Fundamental and Applied Informatics, Mathematics, and Information Technology.

Samia Scholarship Extended marks a new stage in Russian–Tanzanian educational cooperation, opening up opportunities for talented Tanzanian school students to study in Russia.
